Lesson Plans from my student teaching experiences

These are a few of the lesson plans I created and collaborated on while student teaching!

The Betrayal/Trust Lesson was preempted by a field trip we took to the Holocaust Museum in Richmond, The work that came out of it was amazing and was entered into a contest with the JCC about rememberance

The mask lesson was one I wrote exclusively, it was about expressing the real person inside on a format that is meant to hide the identity of the wearer.  Even the most resistant student ended up enjoying the work!

The tunnel book  lesson went along with my teachers silly screamers lesson in the sculpture class. The book was an illustration of the environment that their creature came from.  Their creatures were 3-4 ft tall monsters made from paper and fabric mache.  They were awesome!

The star book lesson was about symbolism and the visual language of corporate america.  I wanted the kids to see how graphic artists create symbols out of signifiers.

The aboriginal x-ray lesson was about how art adds value and power to written language and more importantly to the oral traditions of the Australian Indigenous Peoples.

  1. Elizabeth,

We celebrated this work – and the rich, variety of solutions – again, lovely work – the iamges of student engagement with the art are strong. Students are clearly critically thinking through art – nice work! – PE
